General Questions

What is CalDeaf? Why should I use it?

CalDeaf is a community for discovering and sharing events. It can help you find stuff to do or discover what your friends are doing. If you’d like, read more about us.

What does it cost?

Using CalDeaf is free, free, free.

How do you make money?

CalDeaf is a strictly free service and we make money with advertising. Sprint Relay is our main sponsor.

Are you open to more advertisers?

Yes, we are. Email info@caldeaf.com to inquire about advertising opportunities.

Will CalDeaf or its advertisers send me or my friends spam?

Absolutely not. When you signed up for CalDeaf, we promised you we wouldn’t e-mail you about anything unrelated to CalDeaf. Nobody else has access to your e-mail information, your friends’ and you won’t receive any spam to the e-mail address associated with your CalDeaf account, period. We hate spam, too.

Sharing Pictures

How do I post pictures?

Go to the page that features the event where the pictures were taken. Click on “Share Photos!” under the event title and click on “Choose file”. When you’ve selected your file, click on “Upload photo.” And that’s it.

Can I post pictures from a previous event to an upcoming event?

Yes. Because you want to give others an idea of what previous events looked like, you can post photographs of previous events to advertise your upcoming coffee gathering or pizza night.

Event Problems

Is “self-promotion” OK?

Yes. We think it’s great that you and your organization are here to promote yourself, but start slowly. Adding your content gradually gives you and the CalDeaf community time to discover each other. If you are the organizer, promoter, or beneficiary of an event, then it’s most likely you’ll be received poorly by the community for flooding Caldeaf with too many events at once. It helps to be aware of your audience.

I see a duplicate event! How do I get rid of it?

The best thing to do is to email info@caldeaf.com to notify an CalDeaf moderator. We’ll review it and remove it.

How do I delete an event I created?

You can delete any event you created by signing in and clicking the “Manage” tab.

How do I delete an event someone else created?

You can’t do this directly, for obvious reasons. Email the moderator at info@caldeaf.com and we’ll look into it.

Someone unaffiliated with my organization posted a listing for my event. How can I correct and expand the details?

Great! Someone loved your event so much, they added it to CalDeaf. The best thing to do is to email info@caldeaf.com to ask us to correct it. You can also post a comment with the new information to notify others in the meantime.

Someone made a mistake on an event!

Very often, the quickest way to fix a problem is to contact the moderator at info@caldeaf.com and sending them a quick note. You can also post a comment with the new information to notify others in the meantime.
